So, it has been a while since I last taught 5th grade reading. I’ve been busy teaching math the past 6 years, but this year I am very excited to teach my passion–reading!
Since it’s been a few years, I know I am somewhat out of the loop when it comes to great read aloud novels. Of course, I have my tried and true list–The Giver, The City of Ember, etc. I, however, will be reading the novel to all three of my reading classes–yes, I teach all the 5th grade reading. And let me tell you reading the same chapters three times a day can get old.
I would love to hear about some of your favorites. I am ready to add some new books to my list.
