My 5th grade students always seem to struggle to remember all the various ways we can write the powers of ten. So, I created this fold up for our math journals. Every year my students take the ready made fold up, give it a quick fold and a few cuts and it is ready. After placing the fold up in our math journals, we write in the factor form on the side. To see more, view the short video below that shows how it looks when completed.
As the school year progresses and we learn new skills, students will find the need to return to this resource many times as we review previous concepts. It helps them be more independent and allows me to work one on one with students needing more immediate interventions.
This resource can be found in my Teachers Pay Teachers Store. It includes the ready made fold up, a cut and paste fold up and a practice page.
Teachers that are more creative than me have sent the cut and paste fold up home with students. They assemble at home for extra practice!

And, as always…
